I have to winter over a 3 pound RES indoors and was wondering if anyone knows if you can get those basking platforms that will support a RES this large? I'm talking about the kind that float with the water level. Where can they be purchased online?

Don't know about purchasing on-line, but you could make a frame from PVC pipe - pretty easy to cut at home with a hack saw, cheap, and you can make it to your specifications. You can make a frame that hangs over the side of the enclosure (sort of "U" with extensions on each side to go over the sides of the tank -u- if that makes sense) or a stand for inside the enlcosure. Wood or floating cork bark can be drilled into the PVC. Make sure the water is really deep enough, because I've fostered large females that developed deep bruising on the plastron from hitting the bottom too hard. Ended up looking like blood blisters on the plastron.

Thanks, I'm kinda handy with a saw so I may try the PVC pipe method.
