I was wondering who all has an egyptian uro on this forum.

My dad said when I'm ready he's going to take me to a show and let me get another animal (uro).

So I would like to know how long you have had your egyptian, if he/she has ever been sick and how they act (real calm or skittish).

I'd like to get one, but not for another couple of months.

All the input I can get is appreciated.

I want to start researching these uro's before I think about getting one.

RIP Orion

I love her, very sweet disposition. Shes always been healthy thank goodness, other than her burns she came to me with.

I have had her for 5 years, and she was not real young when I got her. I think they make really super pets if you handle and give plenty of attention.

They are not as colorful as others, but awesome just the same.

He is a good guy. When my brother and I got our first reptiles (the mali's) dad wasn't so pleased. But the next day I got up early to go see them and found my dad downstairs holding them and talking baby to them. He loves them. He'll hold them and he sometimes likes watching them eat.

To me it doesn't matter how long anyone has had their egyptian, I just want to know how the feel about them and what they think about them.

If I am going to get another uro, then I want one that won't get sick. I've lost 2 saharan's so far this year. I lost Phoebe (my original female) in August, and yesterday I lost Orion. Today I'm bleaching out the enclosure and giving it a thorough cleaning so I can put Iris back in. I'm saving the medicine and I hope that I won't ever need to use it again, but if I do then it is there.

i have 3 egyptians. i've had them for about a year. 1 is 4 years old (Dog) and the other two are yearlings. Dog wasn't tame when I got him because his previous owner didn't handle him for more than a year! just fed him and kept his cage clean. now all i have to do is stick my arm in his cage and he'll crawl on it and wait for me to set him down so he can explore. (he's very curious) my other two juvies are captive bred. they are very calm and curious also.
true what Eve said, they may not be the most colorful, but they have curious personalities and get huge!

I have Mosca, of course.

Though since I have only had him a month, and he is so young I don't think I can be of much help in the realm of temperment. At the moment he is very moody, lol. He will take food right out of my hand one minute, and run around his cage like an insane idiot the next. Kids! What can ya do with them.
