ok so i am curious about a lizard i was at the san diego zoo

there was this lizard there and i can't remember what kind it is but my boyfriend would like a baby of his own this i have invaded our house with water dragons
ok the description of the lizard as much as I can remember is an all black Very shiny skinned lizard that was about 1 to 2 ft with very long sinister looking digits. he also had a very muscular body.
if anyone can answer this Great if not that is fine we will just remain Curious

Might be a Black Tree Monitor (Varanus beccarii) at least thats what it sounds like.
