Hey Triad, just wanted to say, NOT all saharans get sick

PHEve Nov 08, 2004 10:33 AM

I know you feel you have lost 2 now, and this species, seems to get sick frequently. Yes there are some wc's that do not do well, I agree. But you will find that with many species of lizards.

But if you like saharans, I would not completely rule them out. Just really take the time to find a healthy one, from a reliable breeder.

I wish you well no mater what kind you decide on, eygptian or otherwise.

I just wanted to say this because I bought Crispy, my male saharan 5 years ago as a healthy looking WC , And other than having to calm him by handling, he thrived, thank goodness.

So don't be too quick to rule out a species you like just be CAREFUL in Choosing!

I know. I think it could just be my luck with saharans though.

I heard good things about Doug Dix so that's why I got them through him but maybe it's because he lives so far from me that's why they keep stressing out, even after they have arrived here.

I won't completely give up on saharans. I think I'll just wait until Iris gets full grown to get another one(that is also full grown).

But in the mean time I believe I will look into getting an Egyptian Uromastyx (the larger of the two the Aeclypsis I think is the name of it).

Thanks, I'll never give up on them. But I will wait a while before I get another one. I think that maybe they are just too fragile as yearlings.

Thanks for the name!

I like the eqyptians because they are larger. So then if I got one I'd buy a small dog bed and let it sleep in there when it's out.
