Are there any frogs that can be mixed with red eyes? I bought some tads and I want to know now, before they get big enough, if there is a species compatible.

Only more Red Eyes. RETFs are very delicate and if you mix anything with them they can die from the cross toxins. Not to mention that a RE will try and eat anything that can fit in their mouths. Best not to even try it. They are too pricy to replace.

I just raised some from tads myself. It would be great if you post your progress for me. I had some problems with mine and ended up with some deformities. (2 have odd faces and one is having problems with it's back legs) As far as I know, and from what everyone has told me, I had everything set up right so I have no idea what went wrong.

Right now I have the tads in my fish tank. I put the fish in separate containers so they would not pick on the tads.

Before I got the tads I did quite a lot of stuff to my tank. First I cleaned the hood of any minerals and algae, and all other growths. Then I changed a LOT of water and added fresh water. Then I cleaned everything on top of the gravel and everything in between the gravel with an aquarium vaccum. Then I cleaned the filter. After that I put several tablets of fungus destroyer in the tank. Lastly I added an extra air pump.

The zuccini I put in the tank for the plecos never sank to the bottom, even after a couple of days. I have noticed that the tadpoles have been eating the zuccini. They have also been eating fish food.

Every day I take the aquarium vaccum and clean up all poop in the tank.

The tadpoles are healthy and energetic. There legs are developing fine to.

When the tads turn into froglets it is a neccesity to dust all of their food with calcium.

When the tads turn into froglets, are the froglets really 1/2 inch long?

1/2 inch is big!! Mine are about the size of my thumb nail. Smaller than a quarter but bigger than a dime.

They are pretty tiny, but oh so cute!!!

Especially Timmy. How's he doing anyway?

Timmy is doing great! Thanks for asking. He still has that funny face and he isn't the only one LOL I don't know if I went wrong somewhere or if I just happen to get the genetically "special" ones of the bunch. Out of the 4 froglet in cluding Timmy, three of them seem to have a slightly malformed face and one is having problems with it's back legs. It's using them a bit more now than a couple days ago though so hopefully it'll all turn out good.

Tank is the one having problems with it's back legs. And you can't see it too well in the picture but it's mouth is also a little odd.
