how big do cali kings get? (long sorry)

Cornsnake420 Nov 08, 2004 12:18 PM

i have a cali king (desert phase) i got him about a year ago, it was about 6-8 months old when i first got her, and she has grown longer, and a bit thicker..but not like my baby corn i got before her. i picked up a cornsnake about a month before the king, probably about 2-3 weeks old, now he is like 2feet 8 inches and nearly as thick as the king..

why isnt she growing fast? she is a very picky eater..i try to get her to eat 2 mice a week but usually she will take one, (she has been skipping feeds a few times lately).. i was just wondering if it was because kings dont grow as fast? or because the king is older therefore growing slower?

how big will the cali kings top out at? i mean my corn is only a year this week and he is already 2'8 and a big girth..cant eat enough lol and i wanted my king to be a bit bigger then she is by now, she is about 2feet10 inches and a bit thicker then the corn..
any replies are appreciated

How long is a piece of string?????

I've got adults that range from 4 feet long to 5 and a half feet long.

You will see how big it gets in its own time.

I don't know because I'm new to kingsnakes. My kingsnake eats like a pig. But my guess is that it will start growing faster when you stop chewing your fingernails.

Here is a picture of my '00 male cal king. He is right around 56" and still growing. Just depends on the individual snake really. Some grow quite larger than others. Just have to wait and see.

in the common king complex I have a floridana and a eastern that left this guy in the dust, all three are about the same age.

I have noticed that!! I didnt really put 2 and 2 together until your statement!!! LOL Both of my Cal kings have grown ALOT slower than any other of my kings!!! My calligaster is really putting on the size compared to both of my calis at his age!! Some things just slip by unnoticed!
