Rule of thumb for required space?

livesquid Jun 30, 2003 11:00 AM

I am a total noob to the frog scene, but I was wondering if there is a simple way of determining how much space to give the little guys? I know that d.pumilio is very small, but how big is the surinam cobalt, and how much room do each of these need. What if I have more than one of each? I have many many questions.. Maybe some of you could refer me to an informative FAQ before I go post-crazy.

Thanks for any help.

Also check out Patricks site at www.saurian.net. BTW he is an excellent breeder with an outstanding reputation.

well the space per frog can be invalid when refering to darts. leucs i think should be kept 10 gallons for the first leuc, then 5 gallons for each leuc after that. but with other frogs like d. tincs, you should only put 3-4 depending on the tank. the females can become terrirotial when the age. really it all depends on what specie you are looking at.
