put my crocs together finaly

JPsShadow Nov 08, 2004 02:22 PM

At first the male was very scared of her. He would run everytime she touched him. He would also evert like crazy.

He then stopped and let her walk over and check him out. She walked away and he must of realized hey she is not going to eat me. Cause now they are basking together, sharing food, and getting along nicely.

He also has calmed down alot. In his previous home he was setup with another male. The larger male chased him and they fought and he got bit. He was raised thinking he was a female. Once it was seen he was clearly a male they were seperated. But I think the time he was with the big male made him scared and on the defensive side.

I am glad he has settled into his new home with me so well. Now to finish up there new cage so they can have some more room.

I have posted many pictures without. Not my fault I cant find the needlenose to yank that worm out of my monitors.

Good luck with them. Your new female is gorgeous.

JPsShadow Nov 08, 2004 07:34 PM

Why would you say that? I assume it is cause you looked at it's hemipenis and did not see the flowering end. Well my friend that I not a full eversion he was already tucking it back in when I took the picture.

If I took pictures of them together even without him everting it is night and day difference.

This is another example of how pictures can be deceiving.

Sorry about that. It was just a typing error. I just meant to say great looking monitor. Nice yellow markings.

Hi JPSsShadow

Nice crocs you have there. Just a word of warning I wanted to pass on to you and anyone else that reads this. I noticed the vents that you have on your current tank. I have had bad experiences with that type of grill vent. The metal ones can be very sharp and cut those long monitor toes if they get caught in there the wrong way.

Maybe yours are plastic so its not an issue. Just thought I'd pass it on in case it could help prevent an injury.

Regards

Yes I have seen that with my other critters. I have not noticed my crocs get caught up on them though. They do not seem to climb or hang on them.

Well the male did for the first introduction as he was trying to stay clear of the female.

I will keep an eye on them though.

Thanks for the heads up

What a handsome devil Jody. I hope he and Roxy get along and they make lots of babies.
I need to post pictures of my little one who is starting to be not so little anymore.
Best of luck. Thanks for all your help after I got the small fry too.
