Picky Beardie. =/ What to feed?

Rez Nov 08, 2004 02:52 PM

My beardie seems to be picking through his veggies and fruit. I usually give him mustard greens, collard greens, and turnip greens with an occasional mix of other foods.
But I've noticed he seems hooked on carrots and rarely touches the greens. Is this ok to give daily? Also, are parsley, melon, and bananas ok to feed BDs? He seems to love those, too. x_X

If he is eating only carrots, don't give him any more except occaisonally. Bananas should only be given as a treat as it is high in phospherous.

Try endive if you can find it. My beardies love it. Carrots are not OK to give everyday as it is very high in phospherous. For a list of things that are good to feed them and bad for them go to www.beautifuldragons.com You might also try getting some silk worms and putting them in the salad. The beardies love the silkies and the silkies munch on the salad and the movement draws the beardies to it also. I know that in my experience the salad is disappearing faster now that I'm using silkies.
