How old does a male have to be?

thegeckolady Jun 30, 2003 11:40 AM

hi everyone,

how old would a male have to be to breed? I read that the male has to be 3 months old, about 35grams. Other places say a male has to be at least 10 months. What do you say?

thanks

As long as he's showing buldges and is big enough to handle himself he should be able to get the job done.
The youngest I've bred was 8 months, but I've seen pores and buldges on 2 month old leos. I doubt that a 40 gram female would let the poor little bugger mate with her unless she was really wanting some lol
It always helps to have a bit of size on the male so he can be assertive
hope this helps

Each will mature at a diff age but usually it is around 9 months. I wouldnt expect it too much before that. Sexing him is diff than being sexually mature.
