Nosy Mitsio's hatching in the US

TylerStewart Nov 08, 2004 09:36 PM

The first ever US hatching of the "new" locale, Nosy Mitsio has happened at the Chamco greenhouse. There are 16 babies hatched out, 100 more sweating, and this consists of 3 completely unrelated bloodlines. This is the first time this has happened in the United States, and is yet another locale that will become established in captivity.

that may have been my fault for it getting removed. i asked about him posting when there ready for new homes. im REALLY sorry about that. huge congrats on the babies. when i first got into chameleons all i liked where the crazy reds and blues of ambanjas, but the electric green of a mitzo is just as beautiful. sorry about that.

This is Jim at The Chameleon Company. Thanks for the kind words, but I wanted to clarify. I believe that I have Nosy Mitsio offspring, but as the females were WC, I can't verify this until we see how the male offspring color up. I do not know that these are the first Nosy Mitsio offspring in the U.S. .... just the first here at my facility. So far, there are about 45 out of the egg. Incubation time for the first two clutches were 6 months exactly, and 6 months 10 days, which is about normal for our panthers. I know that others out there will likely have Mitsio offspring soon, if not already, as well.
