so it would not be advisable to buy full grown ready to breed rats, instead just buy young "teen" rats? thanks for your reply

Half grown will work better almost any and every time. Adults are either to a point of infertility or bred out. The ONLY time I buy an adult for breeding is getting a hugely pregnant female that is about to pop. Then I know I will at least get a litter from her.
