Raid at All Ohio Show!....

mmfrankford Jun 30, 2003 12:08 PM

Here in Columbus Ohio the All Ohio Reptile Show was shut down just as it was about to open. The Ohio wildlife division was investigating a black market ring that is going on in several states and confiscated animals at the show. Some of the animals were rattlesnakes and rare turtles, I guess something like 30 people were charged. I hope this doesnt mean the closing of the show for good. Anyway does anyone else have info on this?

Because the show was out of commision for most of the day I was unable to pick up mice for my corns. They have enough to last a little while, but does anyone know of a good place to get (fresh, not freezer "been in there for two years" burn) mice. Especially hoppers and large adult mice or small rats. Oh yeah, in the Columbus or Dayton area. Thanks!

I heard about some arrests in the Mich., Ind., and Ohio areas sunday night on the news. I sorry they closed the show for part of the day, but they probably had a hard time straightening out what was legit and what was crimminal and what belonged to who. You might try the feeder forum, maybe someone lives close to you and could give you some to tide you over. I have a colony of 1.5 rats that feed my 4 snakes and produce extras for a rescue group. They don't take up much space, they live in three tubs stacked on top of each other.

That's a pretty big show probably the biggest in the OH, MI, IND area.
They shouldn't have a problem recouping for next months show.
But it does raise the question will they be back to do it again
next month??? This could mean alot more headache for the show coordinators
checking to see who is legit and who isn't.
