stonewashed pastel opinions please..

Hello. I see from time to time post about the stonewashed pastels and some say they don't think they are attractive. Below is one of mine straight from the Ruppel line. I think it's one of the best pastels I own. At 500 plus grams it keeps getting better and better with every shed. What to you think? Sorry if the photo isn't the best. Still learning..

I think that has to be one of the best looking pastels I have ever seen, I really like the stonewashed pastels from what I have seen of them so far.

Thats a very nice looking snake and if it was in my collection I'd probably keep it, but I actually prefer a pastel with a cleaner background brighter colors and more contrast. For some reason the 'stone washed' pastels always look kind of 'blurry' to me. Yours is still a very nice looking snake, I just prefer the non stone washed kind. It's nice that these snakes are so highly variable that we can afford to pick and choose our favorites.

I think the snake in the pic is very cool looking, but my opinion has limited value to others. My favorite ball python that I own is a normal, but others who have seen it disagree. It doesn't pay to worry about others opinions. If people did that, I believe that there are numerous snakes out there that never would have been produced. My policy is to work with the snakes that I like (and can afford on my limited budget) and forget about the opinions of others.

Good luck!

and have some males from this line and anticipate producing more for this upcoming season.

The image you have posted is a very unique looking Pastel as are the ones that we have. We can't wait to see the Super version, and also what continued breeding of this line does to the appearance when bred to select females.

We have Bell, Graziani, NERD, SK and Woods Pastels in our breeding program and they all produce variations in color and pattern, so we know how that works (just in case someone wonders). These are just (IMHO) a little bit different.
