Can someone ID this frog?

razordance Nov 09, 2004 01:30 PM

I know it's not a great pic, but he doesn't really seem to like posing for the camera. I've been thinking that he's a Squirrel Treefrog, but I'm not really sure. The only other description I've found that he sort of fits is a White Lipped Treefrog, but he's too small (about 1 1/2 inch long). Can anyone help me?

did you but it or catch it? White lipped TF's are from austrailia. I think it looks like a Green tree frog, just has brown skin coloration

The pair were given to us. The other is actually a dark green, so it doesn't suprise me, I just wasn't aware that they didn't have to be green. Thanks

White Lip tree frogs are not from Australia... Whites tree frogs aka Dumpy Treefrogs are from Australia.

Its either a big squirrel tree frog or an average sized green treefrog, but I'm gonna say green tree frog to be on the safe side.

yes, white's and white lipped tree frogs are both from australia, do a search on white lipped tree frog and see for yourself

I apologize..... you were right, for some reason I had white lips set in my mind as a Southern U.S. Species..... you know, Northern Australia, Southern U.S... the differences are so miniscule .

Its actually just an abberant Green Treefrog, actually it's not all that rare for them to have that coloration.

It looks a bit like one of my Cuban treefrogs.. but I can see a slight resemblance to a green treefrog.
