Another Egyptian Question

Triad Nov 09, 2004 05:34 PM

For those of you who have egyptians, did you buy from a breeder online or at a show?

I'm going to get one next May or April. I'd like to know if I am better off waiting for a show to come to my state and going to that, and if going to a show, then what vendor should I look for.

Also should I get a little one, or one that is almost full grown?

How long does it take them to reach full length?

Thanks

I don't think you are going to get a reply to your question about time it takes for them to reach full length because recently I posted the same thing and no one could answer. But for your other question about what to buy baby or sub adult I would go with a larger one they are easier to keep healthy.

Bought most of mine from breeders. I highly recommend Lindsay Pike, Deer fern farms, hacienda anadura?
they are all amazing when helping the novice with questions...
As far as babies or adults????
Tricky question. It seems to me that temperaments and mannerisms vary from individual just as in people.
I would just ask tons of questions! I cannot stress that enough. All the established breeders, although incredibly busy are really enthusiastic and helpful when purchasing a new uro.
I love my egyptians-some are nice, some not so nice.
respect their needs and I guarantee you will enjoy them too.
