It's "normal" but a sexy one at that. Don't know that I would have been able to pass that one up either.
Great snake!

Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean
Awesome snake where did you get it.
$35.00 for it at a local pet store in Belton, MO. Had to go thru 100 babies to find it but I think it was worth the effort. Take care
There are places that still have 100s of babies? Wow to think I've been wanting a lot of 10 females for like . .well all year now, hehe. Great luck, beautiful snake!

Beautiful. I really like the blushing in his pattern!
my opinion is not worth a whole lot, but seems to me that there are no indication that it is anything else than a normal... but what a beauty it is!! Awesome blushing and great colors! Was an excellent choice to pick that one up, no doubt!
Best of luck with it!

I was just taking a hatchling that had taken me a while to get feeding to my local pet store in Colorado today and they had about a dozen young balls in also. I think they said they got them from Extreme Reptiles out of Florida. I wonder if these are co-dominant siblings or something or why they would have wholesale hatchlings in that quantity this late in the year.
Any rate, I liked this little girl so much I traded up to her (had to throw in an extra $10). She has the dorsal blushing like yours (I had to delete a nice pic of a mother hatching a clutch just to make space for this one belly pic) and is sort of ghost looking. She has skin folds on her back half and some scaring near the tail. However, her tongue is light so I'm hoping her color isn't just some skin condition from a dirty cage. Also, she has this rather odd belly. What does the belly on yours look like? Any chance of finding out where your pet store got theirs from?

the pet store did not want to give me that information. Do not understand why?! Maybe they were afraid I would go directly to their source or something. I believe the tongue on this one is red, not really sure though.
and of course quite possibly a different source all together.
It would have cost you $35 just in shipping even if their wholesaler would sell you a lone animal so not really a competition.
I'm just wondering where these could have come from. What was the weight on yours and was it about typical for the group they had? I would think the April imports would have died or gotten bigger by now but maybe with just the right feeding regime they can keep them in stasis until the holiday season. I just can’t imagine pet stores are getting cb for under $20 in huge numbers but maybe they are out there now as byproducts of co-dom shops who might not want to take time to get them feeding and market them. Sure hope mine eats and does ok ...
The weight of this animal was 119 grams. I purchased another one from them the day before that was 172 grams. This animal was not typical of the lot. Most were normal looking w/o the blushing. 2 for $70 is a great price so I had to get them. Just hope they are not problem feeders. They have had them for about 4 months with no problems so I have very high hopes. Thanks for the comments as they are much appreciated
you can have yearling small balls next year
Mark Bell's yearling females at daytona were tiny
it is the only way to keep massive ball amount to supply the demand for the whole year.
I purchased yearlings that should go this year but they only look like power fed balls from april--I will just have to wait
I mean the one I got is only 82 grams. I've had hatchlings out of the egg that big. I've also had 20 gram hatchlings but most around 60 grams. Say this one started out at 60 grams then she only gained 22 grams in 6 months, like 4 grams a month. That seems to me to be walking the razor edge of a maintenance diet. In all fairness the others at the store (which I didn't weigh) looked a bit fuller and where perhaps a little over 100 grams. I hope the pale appearance of mine isn't due to starvation!
