Pixies in Water

Jeff03 Nov 09, 2004 11:32 PM

Wow! I read the posts about pixies being aquatic frogs and yall are right. Since I have changed my frogs enclosure from all dirt and a small water dish to 60% deep water and 40% land his behavior has changed for the best. I've noticed his appatite increase and he seems to "enjoy" playing in the water. My pixie will actually creep out to end of the water and ambush his prey. Literally he will walk to the shallow water and stare at the cricket or mealworm and them bamb; hit it like a ton of bricks. Then returns to the deeper part of his pool.

What a cool frog. I'd love to get one of those in the future.

I have not talked with you in a while, boy your guy is growing fast.

My Goblet has kinda slowed down and is sorta brumating I think. Not eating and in his little hide out. But hes still huge.

Fun froggies. And yes, Goblets favorite spot is usaully the water.

Keep the pyxie pics coming, hes a cutie!

I have a huge turtle tank, and it works well. I noticed my pixie rarely-if ever-jumps, and if she does it's not high at all. Half full of conditioned water, a filtration system, and I change the water about every 3-4 days (makes the *greatest* plant water-for some reason plants thrive with frog water), my pixie swims with absolute pleasure. Having about 40% land, she rarely goes on these islands but does so from time to time.

These frogs are soooo cute
