Is hypomelanism co-dom or recessive in kings?

MountainLyon Nov 09, 2004 11:38 PM

I was reading some ads in the classifieds and was getting confused. One king is het for hypo, another is a super hypo. The little I understand about morphs comes from boas, where to my understanding there is no such thing as het for hypo because it's co-dom. If hypo is recessive in kings, how do you get a super? ...since a super has a double dose of the gene but a recessive trait takes a double dose just to show the trait... I know how punnet's squares work, I just need to know how to draw it up, lower case or capital letter H for hypo... I hope it's that simple! Thanks.

Hypo is simple recessive in kings and milks. The "super" hypo is just another term for one of the glowing hypos. Hypos in kings can vary from almost normal appearing, to almost albino appearing. Check out the milksnake forum to see a possible new form of hypo honduran. These are the snakes most people are referring to as supers.
