Is it okay to carry a warm boa through a cool room?

MountainLyon Nov 10, 2004 12:30 AM

My boas (2 hogs 1 Cay Caulker) are in a fairly sophisticated rack system with digital helix control, but they are in the non-heated end of the house because it's quiet for them and out of the way. Their tubs have a temp gradient of around mid 70s on the cool side and constant 90-91 on the warm side. The actual room temp is usually high 60s-70. If I pick one up out of the warm side of its cage I quickly cary it out by the heater, sometimes in its hide box to help keep it warm. Should I be worried about this very brief exposure to cool air? Should I put a small heater in the room?

I wouldn't worry about it, they may also feel your warmth as you handle them , so they should be ok with short exposures to cooler air.
