Hope we are all well, Not been on here much as been far too busy and also been broadening my forum horizons here in the UK,

Anyhow,, Am starting to think about putting my 4 little guys into their first brumation,, Grumpy, my female is getting fatter and fatter by the day,, and then this really through me, when yesterday she started developing her orange colours,

I am almost certain she is not preggers yet,, is it still ok to brumate her as i wasn't expecting her to colour up until well into the new year ???

Hey Funky glad to see you. Well personally I would hold off with her. Even if did not breed, she could still lay infertile eggs. You would not want her to be eggbound in brumation.

She very well may reabsorb them also. But it would be worth the few week wait to see what she does.

JohnE, and I were just talking about this yesterday as I also have a female, large, and more orange each day. And he has had a couple girls the same way.

We will all have to wait it out and let our girls decide when they are READY !

Cheers hun,, i was thining of waiting untill beginning or mid dec anyhow so might be ok by then.
She has got a massive appitite and is to be honest really fat,, but she has always been a diffeent build to that of stumpy (her brother)
i have stuck a laying tub in just in case though and will see how things go.

Will get a pic or two of her if i can tonight if she is still up when i get in to post on here
