I have a 3 month old JFB, bred in my tank. I seperated him upon discovery & he's been growing well. He is alone in a deli cup w/ water partially changed every day & fully changed every other day. I feed him ground pellets & chopped frozen bloodworms. I transfer him every other day to a fresh-water container by scooping him up in a plastic spoon. He has several little plant pieces in w/ him for hiding. This morning I looked in to find one of his legs missing!! I'm just horrified & can't imagine how this happened. I'm very gentle w/ the spoon & make an effort to not trap his little legs (they're so tiny & delicate). I do the partial water change with a turkey baster & try to keep it on the opposite side as him.
Do you think the suction damaged a leg one day & it finally fell off? I'm so upset & want to know what I might have done to hurt him & how to keep from ever doing it again!
