how many can live here?

geckogrl6 Nov 10, 2004 01:49 PM

Hey-
I can't remember what size tank this is. I'm thinking 25 or 30, but it measures 24 by 12 by 16 inches high, and I want to put two large girls and a male in there. What do you guys think? If its a 25 is that too crowded w/all the furniture?

As long as each has it's own hide, it should be fine. I've actually found my leos enjoy more furnature to climb around on.

They really do like to climb, try putting a second floor in there, the tank seems high enough to do it.

Gurham has a really nice set up, look around, I have a slab of wood that runs up the back of my tank to give a sort of second layer look.
I've also use bristo board, but don't recommend it, its a too weak.

Hey Snarks there is a second floor shelf in there. its clear plexiglass, so it doesn't show up well on the photo, but the dark blob in the upper left is Rainbow sitting on the back of that shelf. I currently have a grapewood branch as a ramp, but am looking for something better. the shelf is 6 by 12 inches and sits maybe 6-7 inches from the top, maybe 8 inches off the substrate. Any ideas? I was thinking balsa wood?

I like your cage, it has alot of things for them to do.

Someone mentioned my cage so I'll just post it. It's a 2 story, took about 10 minutes to build the 2nd floor (measure wood, cut on bandsaw, drill and nail together) very easy and I reccomend it highly, really gives them a choice on the exact temp they want to be

I think the only thing I would worry about is what kind of lineing are you using. Looked like some sort of dirt? you might want to ask around and find out if that is safe
