i sent out for a permit for all my animals that required one. this was about 5 months ago. today i received a renewal form. they want more money. my question is how often do you guys and gals have to renew your permits? also it says on my current permit "is authorized, pursuant to investigation, to possess in new jersey for hobby purposes, the following species" then the list of my animals. what does pursuant to investigation mean?

IANAL, but it generally means that you are authorized and all is ok but they reserve the right to investigate further at a future date (or are currently) and revoke your permit if the investigation proved they should.

I wouldn't worry as it sounds like standard weasel (no offence to weasels intended ) language that would protect them if they gave out a permit that they shouldn't have and wanted to revoke it.

No permits needed for uros here in Washington. (thats all I have)

Just out of curiosity what reptiles require permits in New Jersey? Keeping alligators up there?

yeah, most people dont even bother with the permits, but i figured that since i have so may reptiles it would be smart to get them just incase. i wouldnt want my babys taken away from me. i have 4 iguanas (dont need a permit) 2 mali uromastyx (need a permit) 1 bearded dragon (needs permit) 1 laemanctus (conehead lizard, also needs a permit) and i did have a flapneck chameleon but he died and also needed a permit.
