Shell conditioner??

peachstategeckos Nov 10, 2004 02:32 PM

Hi everyone,
I was wondering about shell conditioners. Do any of you use them? What is the best kind? As you can tell from my username I'm more into geckos but I have a female res that I've had for about a year. I've noticed her shell is becoming dull. She's an absolutely GREAT eater and seems fine otherwise. Thanx ahead of time!

I personally have never used them. I would just check all your water peremiters and make sure everything is good. (Amonia and Nitrite at 0, and Nitrate very close to 0.)

I have seen shell conditioners and always wondered if they were any good, so i shall be interested to read everyone elses responses

They are a waste of money, they won't do anything to help your turtle, except make it look shiny for a few minutes after you put it on. Proper lighting, water condition and diet will keep your RES healthy.

Wate of money.

You can use vitamin E and it will keep their shells healthy and looking good.
