NOT EATING HELP!!!!

DragonGirly Jun 30, 2003 01:43 PM

Buzz has stopped eating.Everything is the same expect I have the AC set to 65-70 at night.I turn off the basking light, but under his cave he has a heating pad ( the pad is the under the glass reptile style kind)I have noticed that 4 out of 7 nights he has stayed on his log, not going into his cave to sleep like he usually does.

He did a FULL body shed and ate like a pig, then not even 2 weeks later he is shedding again, but this time he is not eating.

Any idea's?

Off to put him in the tub for a soak, I"ll check back in a little while

Buzz is a year old male, 16 3/8 inches long and is 350 grams ( well he was that weight about 4 wks. ago.I'll take him and get him weighted again since he has stopped eating)

He has no running strools. His sleeping habits are the same ,expect for not going in his cave every night

it could be that he is shedding, many do stop or slow eating when in shed, its kinda a miserable time for him. I would do away with the UTH and if you need the nighttime warmth (if your house falls below 60-65 at night) use a nighttime bulb, very low wattage just to take the chill out. Is he loosing weight? you might want to have a fecal done to rule out parasites. Probably having the AC on at night has had some effect on him.
