reptitherm heater

andrewthao Nov 10, 2004 05:00 PM

Hey,

I have a reptitherm heater, and I was wondering if I could use this to heat the 10 gallon aquarium I have hatchling turtles in? let me know soon before I go ahead and attempt it.

you need an unbreakable submersible heater. PetCo carries them

some submersible heaters can be mounted vertically only.
also, if the tube is glass...get a plastic guard to put over the heater.
I've had heaters break even with the guard on them.
That is why we install a GFI to run our tanks.
Heater broke...turtles were safe.If you can, find a plastic, titanium, or stainless tube.
