Gecko with FAT arm pits

Newticus Nov 11, 2004 01:12 AM

Anatole,my gecko has these weird things in his arm pits. It's not a tumour because they're not hard, one side is larger than the other, but both arms have it. i'm not really sure what it is, if anyone has any idea i'd be very thankful. i'm going to try and post a pic, it doesn't really show it, but maybe you can glean something from it
thanks

Without seeing a picture i cant say for sure. But usually "fat armpits" means you have a happy, healthy leo. If he is old enough, he is probably ready to breed! It is a good sign and nothing to be worried about, but i would try to post that picture again, just incase its something else

It sounds like your gecko has ran out of room for fat storage on his tail and is now storing behind his arms!

It's a good thing, not to be alarmed. But a picture would definetly help the more experienced determine if in fact it is fat storage.

Good Job.

Also if you want to post a pic, you can go to imageshack.us and use that to host your pic. Then copy and paste the link they give you into your post here (in the box area where you would normally type your post).

because he's an older gecko i give him very little calcium, usually just on the rump of pinkie every now and then. He might be eating his sand though ??
