I have been experimenting with different temps and daylight times over the years every time winter comes around. I live in New Hampshire, so it gets quite cold as you can imagine. Consequently, Luke (my ig), is totally dependant on heat lamps in the wintertime. I have tried increasing temperature and decreasing daylight by different intervals, but have not found the right combonation as of yet. One winter it was too cold, and the next Luke never came out of his breeding cycle. So far this year, I have decreased the daylight to 10 hrs. and have kept the temp ~85 degrees (~95 basking). He seems to be entering his breeding season again, but I was wondering if it is harmful, or even possible, to prevent iguanas from entering their breeding cycle by keeping temperatures and day/night cycles consistant year-round. If not, I would like to get some of your reccomendations on temps and day/night cycles. Thanks in advance!
