Tank Lighting: What does everybody suggest?

-JayDog- Nov 11, 2004 11:45 AM

Becuase Leos are nocturnal, it seems that lighting is not as important as maintaining a constant and proper heat gradient. Can anybody suggest ways or products that can help keep the hot side around the 85-90 degrees it needs to be without using a bulb? I've been using a heat bulb and UTH pad to reach the 85-90 temp on the hot side. with the bulb off it gets around 78-80. The tank is also near a window so it gets light in during the day (not direct light). So I'm hoping that this is enough to give them a sense of a night and day cycle. I would prefer to not use a bulb.

Thanks,
Jason

I use a ceramic heat emitter, it doesn't give off light, mine gets indirect light from a window too.
