i am considering building a rack system but i'm not sure about the heat tape. can the boxes be sitting on it or what??? is there a way to give it space??

if i built several large cages, how would i be able to give my leos belly heat??? is there a way to still use heat tape??? if i use repticarpet could i just put it under the carpet and have it on a thermostat?? or would i need to use something else like a heat pad or what???thanx and i look forward to your responses.

Heat tape must be used properly or else there could be real problems.
