Different ways to sterilize wood

Hey everyone i was wondering wat different methods you all use to sterilize wood that u collect outside the pet store. Please respond with the steps that you take.

You can soak it in the tub with water and ammonia, bleach, or soap. Then rinse it very very well a few times. Do NOT mix ammonia and bleach, you can die from the fumes.
You can bake it in the oven for 350 or so for a half hour (watch it, might help to moisten it to prevent charring).
Or do both.
