Different ways to sterilize wood

Hey everyone i was wondering wat different methods you all use to sterilize wood that u collect outside the pet store. Please respond with the steps that you take.

1) I soak the wood in a bleach solution for 15-20 minutes (10 parts water to one part bleach)
2) Get new bucket and fill it will fresh clean water and soak for 20 minutes
3) Repeat step 2 with new clean, fresh water
4) Since i'm a little i'm a little paranoid (lol) I also stick the wood in the tub and let the shower run on it for about 15-20 minutes.
5) Sniff the wood if it smells like bleach repeat steps 2-4

This is just what works for me But i'm sure you've heard this a million times what works for one keeper may not work for another.
