Hypo in cresteds?

kidcrazee82 Nov 11, 2004 05:54 PM

A female I purchased about 3 weeks ago has spots like a dalmation, but the spots are and orange/red color instead of black... she has no black coloration anywhere and the red spots are not mites lol. Would she be considered hypo?

From the looks of it I would say that what you have is simply a pale crested. Those red spots are not dalmation spots they are liver spots, found on every morph known. They are simply a genetic trait.

I saw someone on the classifieds that was selling a dalmation with BOTH black and red spots. Odd.

Many of the dalmatians that I produce will develop the red spots as they grow...along with the typical black spots. Nothing really odd about it. Really nothing that points toward hypomelanism either.
