Hour a go I saw my snake open its mouth like it was something in it or try to eating the air or something, and didnt close the mouth for about 7-10sec.I haven't seen him do this before. He did eat a dead rat last nigh that I gave him for the first time since i bought him in last weekend. I saw him drinking a water 3-5min. before i saw him open its mouth...Could it be that why he is open his mouth or is thisnormal? Could it be some infaction? or is it the temp? The temp. have stay pritty low just since saturday, around 70-80 but i did bought a bigger heating pad today so the air temp. sould stay now around 80-87. The humid. stay in 50s-60, sould be good humid. for Ball Python. If it is infaction what can i do??
I live in Little Rock area in Arkansas.

Sounds like a 'yawn' - which is normal. Probably just realigning his jaws after eating. Or just 'yawning'.

I agree. Just a BIG yawn. Normal snake behavior.

very normal, most of my ball pythons yawn after they eat.
