Cage size

ta2edskin Nov 11, 2004 09:26 PM

I am going to be moving out of my apartment to a house on the 1st of the year. My B&W Argen. Tegu is about 6 1/2 months old now, in a 6`l x 2`h x 2`w cage. I was thinking of making a 4`h x 4`w x 8`l cage for her. The thing I am wondering about is it going to be to big for her when she is 8 months old ? The other thing is what would you suggest to heat the cage ? I was just thinking about using halogen bulbs in ceramic fixtures. If you are using something better, or know of a good idea let me know. That size is fine although 4 feet deep isn't really needed. The size shouldn't stress the tegu at all, but if you find that it does you can merely divide off part of the enclosure with a piece of plywood and remove it in the future.

As far as heating, basking lamps are pretty much a standard with DIY enclosures and will work fine.

I hope this was helpful.
