Shedding

Is it normal for corn snakes not to eat prior to shedding? I just got my first corn a little more than a month ago, and when i went to feed her last week she refused. I notice her eyes where clouded over and knew she was going to she soon. I tried to feed her a few days later and she still refused. When i got home from work tonight, i found a fresh shed in her tank(my first!). So, i'm going to try to feed her tomorrow. But would somebody just tell me that its normal for a corn not to eat prior to shedding? It would definitly put my mind at ease.

Am I the only one that gets frustrated when I cant find just plain old white paper towels?? I dont want any dorky lookin flowers in my snake's tank! Its the little things that bother me....

Totally normal to not eat during the time they are opaque. Some will eat, some wont. She'll probably take the pinky with no problem when you next feed her.

And papertowels... I agree, I don't even want ones with designs on them for regular use. They just look stupid to me. I've never had problems finding them though. Finding them on sale is another matter entirely.

Your snake is perfectly normal in not wanting to eat before it sheds.

I also agree about the paper towels kittens, flowers, and snowmen just don't go with snakes. Maybe some with rats and mice on them would be o.k. not the cutsie pink and blue ones either. And for your lizards some with roaches, mealworms and crickets on them. Hmmm, maybe a new marketing idea....

Have you considered selling your roommate on eBay??? Some people will buy anything.

haha! Sell my room mate? I wish i could! Although i dont think he would bring much money in. His pretty much worthless. Anyways, my anery motley just finished her shed last night, as i stated earlier, and i feed her today. She took the food fast and willingly, so i'm excited about that. I measured her shed too, and it was 32 inches long. Shes 1 year and 1 month old. Is that about an average length for a corn of her age? Thanx for everything!
