Ok well my burm is a male and is approx. 34" with a " girth. I just startd him on small rats and i give this to him 1x a week. is that too little? It leaves a nice bump in him for 48 hrs. Also i plan to give him medium rats after 6 small rats then large rats after about 6 or 7 mediums so by 4 ft hell be getting lrge rats then jumbo at 5 ft. I was going to feed him once a week until he gets 6 foot where hell get 1 pound rabbits every other week...Is this a good feeding schedule? Plas give me some advise thanks alot,
jake

ps: sorry about the grammr my kyboars kinda messed up...lol

I think you are right on track for what would be an ideal diet fora captive burm. Realize this, most captive burms are overfed which will eventually lead to a shortented life span. My adult burms (some that are even in their 30's) are fed ONCE A MONTH (and twice at the very most depending on the situation) and they are big, lean but excellent girth and outstanding muscle tone. I usually start cutting back on the feeding intervals at around 1-2 years of age when these fast growing snakes begin reaching adult sizes.
