Too skinny/ too small?

Ok so I need, help again. BTW, thanks to all that are willing to go out of their way to help a newbie care for these great little creatures. I really do appreciate it.

My problem is this: My tinc I have had since May. At the time when I got him I was told that he was six weeks out so now he would be about 7 months? In this time that I have had him, he has grown, but not much. He eats sometimes 30 flies a day (depending on how many escape before I can close the culture) and has never had an issue with not eating. I would think he would have grown more than he has by now and I hear that tincs are usually a larger species. Am I wrong in this? How bis is he supposed to get and about how big should he be now? My leuc who is months behind him in age is the same size as him and MUCH fatter. I know that this is partially because of the body type, the two are very different.

Right now he is pushing an inch if he's lucky. I got the measuring tape in there yesterday and I would say (cant get it too close to him to be acurate) that he is more like 3/4 of an inch.

Am I being paranoid or should I find someone that can do a fecal? Is it possible that he could have parisites and his body is not able to absorb as much as it should be? I really want him to be healthy and I would feel terrible if he has been sick all this time and I didn't know. Like I said though, he is active, eats a lot, and shows no signs of anything wrong that I know of.

He did come from a questional background as I obtained him from a pet shop that knew nothing about him and sold him as a "blue and black frog."

These are the pics I took of him today. I would LOVE opinions. Oh and also, when should I be able to sex him/her?

Thanks!

I wonder if he was wild caught? It certainly wouldn't hurt to get a fecal done to rule out parasites. He does seem awfully small for a 7 month old tinc that is eating well. Leucs tend to be somewhat more rotund in general. The thought occurred to me that he might be one of the smaller species of darts, but I can't think of what. He does look like a tinc to me, but I'm no expert on identification.

It's definitely one of the Tinc morphs. It looks to me like a French Guiana Dwarf Cobalt Tinctorious, which may explain your size concern.

Oh yea, and it looks like he is a she. You can sex tincs fairly easily by their front toe pads. A female's front toe pads will be similar in size to their rear toe pads, while a male's front toe pads will be much larger then the rear toe pads.

As long as she is feeding well, I wouldn't be too concerned. You might want to offer some more flys and see if she puts on some weight.

Ok so maybe he is a she and she is a dwarf? I can live with those answers, but I think maybe to totally set my mind at ease I may do the fecal. At seven months, what is a normal tinc supposed to look like? I fed more flies last night and today after writing the post so I think I will continue with that as well. I have not heard of except for maybe once of this dwarf tinc, are they not common? I thought most were not wild caught as well?

Sorry for so many questions, but I may as well asking them since I am thinking them.

Thanks again.
