I noticed on your webpage that you were majoring in ecology and evolutionary biology. I am at a critical point in choosing my major, and I was wondering how the field looked from your perspective. How do you feel about the major? I also intend to do doctoral work eventually. Will you?
Thanks!

hmmmmmmmm.....

Well, I must say that there is no money in this career, but it is something that I enjoy. Finding that equillibrium between the two is the tough part, especially without a PhD... Perhaps eventually I may go for a PhD, but I am not looking that far ahead into the future right now... Gotta focus on what I've got on my plate, and go from there...

The person to really talk to as far as career options in the field and such is Sam Sweet, who posts frequently here on the forum. He is a professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UC Santa Barbara, and can be a great help to you. Email me if you are unable to come up with his contact info from the site here, I will email you his email address...

Throw me an email and we can chat a bit more about studying ecology/evolutionary bio.. Cheers mate,

bob
