Feeding question

loril Nov 12, 2004 02:11 PM

Does anyone feed any of the pellet-like foods made for beardies or iguanas? I'm not talking about for a staple but for something good for variety. Which is better, the ones for beardies or iguanas? I've seen one that has hibiscus flowers in it.
Or would it be better to stick with greens and the occassional cricket?
Also, where is a good place to get dandelion greens?

what area of the country do you live in? that could determine where you can get the greens. i live in san diego and i finally found them at an albertson's, which is just a regular grocery store. when i was home in south carolina over the summer, there was a natural food store that would order them for people

I'll be moving back to Tallahassee soon and know that New Leaf Health Foods carries dandelion greens. I have to agree with el torro, any health food store will carry them. You might even ask your grocery store if they could start carrying them as well. They ARE good for humans, too.

I sprinkle juvenile iguana pellets on the salad sometimes for color and texture - I would stick with iguana pellets since the beardie ones probably have more protein. Variety is always good, as long as it's a healthy sort of choice. Crickets are ok, too, once in a while.

Dandelion greens are almost always available at health food stores.
