Rosy boa tempermeant question?

Malays Nov 12, 2004 03:55 PM

I am looking into Male rosy boa since I read they stay smaller than female(tank is 20 gallon long) . I understand they have high feeding responces does this translate to biting every time held?
Also do they come out much of hide areas or like most snakes only venture out when hungry?
Thanks

I have a female- and yes, she does have an excellent feeding response. But, she has never bit me and I handle her often. When it is within a few days of feeding or if she is looking especially hungary, I am much more cautious, and in general I don't handle her the day I feed, but I have never had a problem with it. When I first got her, she would remain buried in her substrate until she was hungary. But now, she is out nearly all the time and is very active. I don't know how typical this is as she is my first and only rosy.
