that balancing act looks scary and I think plexiglass will
block out the UV rays. But if they get some sun from the
top and it doesn't get too hot (or fill with rain in a sudden
downpour) it would be OK. I'd like to see a border around the
bottom maybe a few inches high so they wouldn't seem so
suspended above ground by putting some paper on the outside
my vet said they hate to be up on a table or something because
of the feeling of falling. You sure got a herd of little guys
there.

Also there is an article on the tortoise trust, with a two year study that says substrates that do not allow microclimates, may almost definatley cause bladder stones.
