Do you think it's cruel...

hefte Nov 12, 2004 04:37 PM

I feed my JCP 17 mice about every 7-10 days. She is hungry and hunting within about four days. Do you think it's cruel to let her go two weeks with a feeding? I always feel bad, but given my current situation, I have to feed live, or fresh killed rather, and it takes about three hours. Just haven't had the time. Thank you in advance.

effective and reduce the time you need to feed her. It may be hard but try to get her started with a mouse and then offer a rat after she is in the feed mode. If she starts eating rats you may have the time to feed weekly and it should reduce your cost as well. Just my thoughts. Frank Kincade.

I've tried scenting, I've tried a mouse first, I've tried starving, I tried everything that people have reccomended. Nothing works. If it were that easy I definetly would have gone that route. None of the other snakes have this problem, and she is like that chore you just don't want to do. Two weeks is the longest she will have ever gone, except when I was trying to switch her to rats. I know that in the wild she would probably go much longer than that, but my concience is killing me. Thanks though.
