hey i was wondering how many tiles you need for a 20 gallon tank, and what are the best type of tiles to use? and what do i do about the uth ????? will the tiles get too hot?

An easy way is to figure out how much floor space the tank has. Say it is 12" x 30". You need 2 6"x6" tiles one way and 5 6"x6" tiles the other way. L x W = # tiles.
A more challenging way is you can take (Lx2)x(Wx2)= #tiles then take # tiles and divide by 4, then double the resulting number and you wil have the number.
