Thanks for sharing that though, gotta keep my eyes open for one of them buggers now. It's easy to forget where fruits and veggies come from, and what could be living among them. Thank god nobody was hurt!

Widows in general are harmless. Unless a female is guarding an egg sac you kind of have to really harass one to get it to bite (or for example stick a foot into a shoe where one is trapped with no where to go to escape).
