Grand Cayman Blue Vs. Rhino

d0llm0uth Nov 12, 2004 09:24 PM

What are the differances in personality between these guys? I have read about some on other sites, but I want to know from people who have had experiance with both.

First to knit pic- you wont get a GC Blue. a hybrid you can get.
This was just brought up. I have both. rhinos are more mellow to you and there own. All tame and make great "pets" but its more up to the individual animal and the time you will put in to tame it. The other side- a pissed off cyclura can be scary. If you are trying to decide what to get. Pick the one you like the looks of and do some homework about the parents if you can. Cayman, Cuban, rhinos are not that different in general terms.

I agree. The hardest part though is just getting past the first couple of years while they have the instinct to want to flee. As long as you put the time and effort in, and ounce they reach maturity, you can have a wonderfully tame cyclura no matter what type it is.

I meant hybrid, just didn't say it. I like the looks of both, both are gorgeous. It is a really tough descision.

I had hoped thats what you meant. It gets my attention when people think they are getting a lewisi. I am very involved in their conservation.
I like my cayman hybrid's looks better than a rhino. The head shape of the caymans, the longer snout, longer than nubila, I think is really cool. The shear mass of a big male rhino is also impressive, thats so Jane and John dont get mad

Do you know someone who has any blue hybrid hatchlings available? I've looked on the classifieds. I see rhinos, but no hybrids yet.
