I've heard talk of whitesided tx rats. Just wondering if anyone in the states are working with these, and are they pure texas or hybrids.I would like to see some pics if anyone has any.

there is rusty black rat whitesides.....which would be at least somewhat of an intergrade.....(seeing that the leucistic gene came from texas rats and the rusty black rats are carriers ((typically)) of that gene)
would love to see the whiteside texas rats....if they are pure i may even get a pair

I'm not sure I want popular opinion on my side -- I've noticed those with the most opinions often have the fewest facts.
The Rusty Black Rat was a WC animal. When bred to a normal, it was proven co-dominant. When two Rustys were bred together, they produce normal Blacks, Rustys, & Leucistics (which are the "Super" form). This is also the case in Ball Pythons & Rainbow Boas. The Leucistics Black Rats have nothing to do w/ the TX bloodline. There was also a WC Leucistic found in OH which makes a second bloodline of Leucistic Black Rats.
This is a pic of a pic from the book Texas Snakes by Werler and Dixon. It was collected in Fort Bend County, wish I knew who has or had it
I tried to get some info an this snake a year or two ago and came up with nothing.

I thought that it was the original leucistic Tx rat that was caught in Fort Bend County. Is this that snake, or is this yet another morph caught in Fort Bend County? Or, am I just remembering incorrectly?
