Snake took a bad fall - help!

yasigecko Nov 12, 2004 11:32 PM

My young ball python (1.5 feet) accidently fell from about 4 feet onto his back on hard tile. He's acting extremely sluggish and like he doesn't want to move the last half of his body. However, he is not aggressive when touched anywhere, but he is normally extremely calm anyway. When put back into his cage, he only pulled halfway into his hidebox (not normal). I want to know if he's a goner or if he might be okay and if there's anything I can do for him.
I felt him for broken ribs and vertebrae but either he's fine or else I just couldn't tell. But I'm afraid he may have internal bleeding or something. Pleas tell me what you think!

i think you should take him to the vet if you are that uncertain. if there is some minor swelling that u might not see it may just take a few days to get him back on track and to keep from being sore so it wont hurt to move, but a vet is ur best bet
