Is this her first clutch of the season? How are you setting up her laying box, lights, and temp etc. How old is she? Can you feel the eggs? Is she housed with others? Can she see other dragons from her layin bin? Laying bin should be a seperate container. Rubbermaids work well with about 8 iches of potting soil and half sand, Moist but not soaking wet should clump together without dripping. Provide a clamp light over her laying medium temps usaully reach 85 degrees before they descide to lay usaully around 4:00 P.m. WWW.Dachiu.com gives great info. Good Luck.

All females are different.........I have found with all of my females and all of their different clutches that they are all different when they will lay. I have had females that would only lay at night. So you may want to try leaving the female in the laying bin with a red heat light on it overnight. I do 24 hour intervals for laying(usually doesnt take more than a couple hours though when you get used to them, and get used to when they are ready). Start early in the day, say mid morning. Put them in the lay box with a clamp light making it pretty warm where the mound is to burrow in. At night if there is still no laying, change the bulb with a red bulb or a ceramic heat emitter for nightime warmth. The following morning if there is still no laying, they go back in the regular enclosure for 24 hours........then the process will repeat itself. You will notice when the female is ready........scratching/digging around, and not feeding are the key signs. Usually you can feel the lumps, sometimes not. Its also good to monitor weight before/during/after egg laying just to know how your female is doing. After she lays, make sure to clean her, soak her, then feed her after letting her calm down for a bit after covering the eggs. Any questions feel free to email me. Chris Allen

ive tried the rotation thing and she still hasnt laid. the rubbermaid is seperate from other beardies but the male she has been with may be too aggressive because i noticed today that he is going through the mating ritual again, so i have since seperated him and she calmed down a bit. waited a few hours and put her back in the nesting box, she backed up and just as i thought she was going to lay (wiggling her butt down into the medium [mixture of sand and vermic]) she moved out of position, and layed on top of her heap. this is her first clutch and from copulation she should be anywhere from a week to three weeks over due. im thinking it may be first clutch syndrome. but i dont know. im not worried at this point i was just in the forum and thought i would prepare for the worst and hope for the best sort of thing. and yes i KNOW she is gravid...i can palpate and see the indiv. eggs to the point where its making her ribs stick up. she has been off food for a couple days now with the exception of about 3 lrg meal worms yesterday. and ive been keeping her hydrated and offering greens just in case she gets a little hungry and since she is too big to chase anything down.
